Maybe a caliber 26.5, cushion case with leaf hands from about 1925 to 1927.
    Can't help with value.

Noted... I should have provided more detail...
I don't have any other pics unfortunately and the watch is on an auction site, apparently it is from 1926 amd solid gold and from looking at AJTT I suspect it might be a 26.5... it has caught my eye....

That said Ive no experience with these older pieces, my oldest Omega is from the 50's, just wondeing if any one can see any telltale signs of inauthenticity (I cant) and if they have any idea of ballpark value. I can't help but thinking the case seems heavily polished

Sarcasm must have a different meaning where you're from. Looked like a classic faux pas to me. But, I guess every forum needs a police officer.

Would you feel better had I said it was meant as irony? Why is it okay to tell newbies to read that thread but it's bad form to point it out to a long-time member?

I don't believe I ever indicated one way or another my opinion on whether it's bad form to direct new members to an informational thread, let alone members with a longer history. I was just amused at your attempt to save face...you know, the whole "it was sarcasm" bit, instead of admitting that you simply made an assumption and neglected to look at how long the OP had been a member and how many posts he had made. If this indeed isn't the case your sense of sarcasm and "irony" are so rarefied and elevated as to be far above my level of comprehension, in which case I applaud and commend you.

Guys, nothing to argue about here. Sometimes we all fail to understand, it is the nature of the media.

I agree, and I apologize for my part if anyone was offended in any way.

No problem, I live to be offended. Being offended gives me purpose in life.

Don't worry, some of us got it.

EDIT: This one posted some time ago has some similarities: https://omegaforums.net/threads/summoning-the-elders-35-omega-26-5-sob-t2.38525/#post-445563

Most solid gold watches from that era have come down to us polished, often quite a bit. Also, if the strap were removed you'd probably see a bit of wear and unevenness to the inner aspect of the lugs. Being solid gold shouldn't really add much to the value of this watch IMO. It's not really a very collectible watch, though it is attractive. It's probably also on the small side (30mm or so across).

Thanks y'all for your help, watch ended up going for $1800 usd including buyers premium ... and I could't get and answer as to wether the case was 30 or 33mm - too too expensive I reckon plus 30mm is too small for me.

    Cheers and thanks
