image.jpg I visited a Jeweler yesterday, one I frequent on a regular basis, and she was selling a collection of her fathers watches. Along with the typical Rolex and Breitling models, I saw two Le Coulre watches that looked interesting. I'm not very familiar with the brand, and wondered if anyone out there could fill me in on these. I don't know anything other than what you can see.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

The first one is more collectible then the second one.
On the bay sellers calls it a ship wheel case or something along that line normally 14k case, the second case doesn't have much name to it but if you spend time looking, there is a matching model for the ladies.
Thanks pretty much all know from what I read.

I thought the top one was a "bottle cap" model?
Can't remember much else about it.
I think the bottom one is described as having "ribbon lugs," IIRC.

Either name is acceptable. However, if you peruse the vintage LeCoutlre ads via Google, it probably has a given model name. I can't recall it at present.

The second watch is called "Knotted Lugs". The same style of case was used by several watch companies in the late 1940's.

    Hope this helps,

All I can add is that they most likely use a cal 480 movement and are from the 40s. For more info, the go to person is Zaf Basha at classicwatch.com.
