Hey all! I am looking to buy my first vintage Omega. I came across this one, with a somewhat unusual black dial. The markers are of a different kind. (I did find one or two pictures of a black connie with similar dials) And the star looks a bit weird and off. (But this is more often the case?) So I was wondering if this is an original piece, like the seller suggests. What do you guys make of it? And are the back/movement in a fair condition? Thanks for your help!
Looks like a 14902 with a black repainted dial, the star was handmade coming with a tired movement, case is polished with a correct crown.
Hey thanks! You mean the star was originally made by hand or later replaced by hand? And do you consider any of your observations as red flags? Knowing that the watch still costs around 1700 dollars.
Run away. I believe everything @hoipolloi mentioned is a negative, except for the original crown, which is very worn anyway. For that money, I would expect a lot better. Hand made stars are not original.
Thanks for your feedback. Very much appreciated. It is a lot of money, so I would like to buy with some confidence. But it's a jungle out there!
Say, is that an original bracelet? It looks like a 'standard' BoR, but with flat links. Looks nice IMO.
