The Omega 1069 bracelet attached to my watch just broke (fortunately while I was in a chair and not over a hard surface floor). I found the broken pin which is pictured below. Are there current replacement pin parts available? Where might I find these? Thanks for any help and guidance you can suggest.
Easy to find on eBay. Just take some measurements: say it's 16mm long and 2mm thick. Search eBay for "spring pin 16" and you should find something pretty close.
I had one of those disintegrate when I was resizing a BOR, pretty common I guess. The bracelets are lovely but I think the pins are the weak link-probably outsourced to the lowest bidder.
I knew I could depend on quick, knowledgeable responses. Thanks for the eBay suggestion and term to search! And I’m functional again until the part arrives thanks to the mention of the similar beads of rice spring pin issue. I have extra links and pins for a 1503 BOR with identical pins so I used one of them temporarily. I’m going to replace all the spring pins on both bracelets from the eBay purchase since I don’t want to repeat this episode of a broken part and watch falling off my wrist. Here it is back to functioning:
Hi, sorry for reviving this old post, but could you link me to the pin you used to fix your 1069 bracelet? I am having a hard time with finding a replacement. thanks!
I am looking for this answer too. After finding this thread a few months ago, I have been meaning to order these to see if they work: https://www.esslinger.com/watch-ban...lder-nickel-plated-spring-bars-package-of-10/ If I get around to that at any point soon, I'll respond as to whether they worked or not.
As mentioned before, you need to measure the original pin. You can pick up an electronic caliper for the measurement on Amazon for under $10. If you are missing the pin, try measuring another one from the bracelet. The other option is to buy an assortment of pins and compare. Good luck.
I thought the same thing, but I need to order a few other items from Esslinger anyways. Might as well give them a try for $3.
Yeah, worth a shot. If the bracelet isn't worn out, they might work. I'd be afraid of an older, looser bracelet failing with the shorter tips. When I needed similar, my watchmaker ground flanges off double-flange bars, and that worked out OK.
