I've had a few hummers over the years including this model which was one of my favourites. Condition is important and as padders has said the bezel on this looks not too bad, very hard to find good condition ones now and one of the reasons I bought mine - sadly no longer with me as part traded. The watch should be seen running, not just running but running well, no date issue and timed for accuracy as if this is out it will also need a specialist to look at it. I've also used and would recommend Paul at electric watches if you are UK based but he can be hard to get a hold off but definitely recommended.

Thanks for the info. They are asking £925

I'd expect to see a price of half that for a running example. £925 is taking the piss.

Hi Guys. Thanks for all the info and suggestions, it's really appreciated. I have just heard from the seller that it has not been seen working as it was her late fathers. I think I will leave this one alone and continue my search.

Not worth the price I've had a black one in full set as "NOS" condition, forgot it one day in my car and the temperatures went just a bit below zero, threw the watch out of whack completely. Had a white one die on me ... Both bought at less than 500€ two years ago, I'll never touch any hummers again.

I think you'd be better of with a similar case and dial design of a Seamaster Cosmic 2000, bid on one get it serviced and wear that.
The hummers are a loosing proposition I've tried them multiple times and failed every one of those times. Either got beat up when selling a serviced piece or getting one DOA or dead within a couple of months.
Not worth it!

Tuning fork watches are not for everybody. This is 60s/70s tech. You gotta take care of it. It's a bit like taking a rolex for a swim when you know it hasn't been serviced in a long time. I will say that I have seen what a lot of folks complain about with timekeeping. You simply cannot guarantee it long-term. The coils can die at any time, for any reason. The index wheels are marvels of engineering, but an untrained watchmaker that barely touches his tweezers to one can ruin it. The biggest issue on F300 watches are the day/date discs using brittle plastic and the teeth can break. Having said all of that, I still buy them and enjoy them every day. You can have 10 or 20 of these watches (if you buy them cheap $100 to $300) for the price of a vanilla basic speedmasters. My opinion is that these are marvelous undervalued watches, and I hope they stay undervalued.

I also think that the price is way to much. I would expect such a price for a NOS full set. Parts for these calibers are available and do not cost a fortune.

Just for transparency I have emailed the thread creator if he would be interested in my f300 bought back in 2017 on this very forum.

I had a chance to pick up this one around 3 years ago for $300 usd. Of course, you had to whack it on the side of the case to start it running like an old TV from the same era. I decided that when it comes to watches, hummers just aren’t for me.
