I am in a dilemma which watch to buy?

Watch 1 is a Apollo 11 45th Anniversary limited edition watch ( limited to only 1969 pieces in the whole world ). The case if Titanium - Sedna Gold combo with a Nato Nylon strap. Brown in colour and Manual winding. Closed casing at the back.

Watch 2 is a Speedmaster " Dark side of the moon " which is unlimited in production, Case made of Black Ceramic. Strap is Nato Nylon which is black in colour. It is Self winding watch with a beautiful Sapphire glass both front and the back. Slightly more expensive than the above watch which is a limited series.

I am more tempted towards Watch 1 but the reason which is stopping me to buy is that what if Omega produces 50th Anniversary of landing over moon series in 2019 or 2020?

 

they will produce a 50th anniversary and a 55th anniversary watch etc. etc. Get yourself the 45th anniversary watch. These are LE's. And by the way..5 years are like decades when thinking of collecting watches. So you will ask for the next LE's. Trust me !!!

I love the DSOTM and will get another one day, but the 45th was a highly regarded and fast-selling LE, so it's probably the better "investment" if you could call it that.

 

Can't go wrong with either selection, I have the 45th, and a Grey Side. They are totally different watches in just about every respect. As for the "what if" scenario... Its not what if, there will be more anniversary editions, and the 50th Apollo XI is going to be something very very special, but that is a long way away. My advice.... Go with the 45th on a titanium bracelet. There aren't any left in the Omega network I don't believe (well, I know of one) but these do come up on the secondary market.

Get the 45th anniversary one! The DSOTM was once so hard to get back in the day but now they are readily available.

 

If you like the 45, why would a 50 or 55 release affect your enjoyment of it?

Go with what you like and what you want to wear. If you get too bogged down with what others like and what's a good investment etc, you'll likely end up with a watch you're not entirely happy with and subsequently find out its desirability and investment value isn't quite what you'd hoped.

There is only 1 45th anniversary edition left in the Omega network worldwide, and its sitting in the San Diego boutique and ready for one lucky owner.

 

I don't own one, but it is a nice watch...

 

Choose the Apollo 45th Anni if possible ;-) THE best LE of the last decades ...



And: If you get tired of it sometimes in the future you will get your money back .. .more than doubled!

I agree, you need them all. Those are my three favorite LE's, and I've got two of them, working on the third (as in, working my job to save my money to get a Gemini!).
