Thank you all for the input. I’m definitely mulling over it, I don’t buy myself much as I don’t really care for that many things. All my money is usually spent on experiences. It’s a real 50/50 at the moment
Like many I have had a lifetime of "experiences", when they are done and dusted you have the memories, and thats it. Something tangible makes that experience real again and again. I lived in Germany on a few separate occasions as an example (not Military postings) and each time I bought a very different watch that was made in Germany. I think that for every unique experience I have something tangible that I actually use and reminds me of that experience. When I was in France I bought a hand-made pocket knife that was designed by French rugby player Yannick Jauzion, even though I don't follow Rugby. I don't have much of a curio cabinet, everything is normally purchased as something I would use or carry frequently.

This experience thing is fine but as time passes, it really helps to have a memory jogger. My Mk2 is my wedding watch and I can happily say both have stood the test of time. Oh, as a last contribution, sitting on the fence usually results in splinters in the .........

Congrats. The Dalwhinnie 15 is an appropriate pairing because I think it represents good value as well. Picked up a bottle a couple weeks ago.

Thank you. Yeah the Dalwhinnie is great value, I got into drinking whisky about 2 years ago and so far it’s in my top 3 up there with Highland Park 15 and Old Pulteney 12 but I’ve only just scratched the surface in the whisky world

When my kid asks can we go to the swimming pool (or similar) if we can go I take them. There have been times when I said we will go tomorrow and it rains or we have to have lunch with Auntie or…...So if you want and can do it now then do it.
Though the original post said until Boxing Day so maybe my 2 cents are 2 late.
