Hello OF!

Came across with this piece and I would like to gather some inputs & advice before I pull the trigger.

To me the only downside is the pitting sign at crown & the discoloration and missing mark between 11 and 12.

Thought anyone?

IMHO, I think you can get a far better example for not much more. Here's one with a sparkle dial, as an example. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/omega-seamaster-chronometer-168-022-circa-1969-a-5134263.html

Yours isnt a bad choice either! Considering the little price difference between both. But the dial looks like refinished?
I was having a hard time to look for a decent on for 168.024. I don't know why, I just get attracted by the beads of rice bracelet for this particular model.

Dial looks fine. I would set up a search for a 168.024 on WatchRecon.com One will come up, eventually.

Looks like corrosion here:

I bought a one like that with a much smaller dial damage than yours, it turn out to had suffered a water damage

That dial damage is too much for me. Have a little patience.

Similar corrosion at crown. Dented at bezel near 9 o'clock. Beads rice bracelet not in perfect condition...

I wouldn't consider either of them.

The dial damage on the first is way too distracting, end of story.

The second one looks to have been ridden hard: scratched up case back, beat up bezel, case corrosion and a tatty and ratty BOR bracelet...It will also need a deep clean and service judging by its -57sec/day time keeping and substantial DNA build up 😲

How about this?

For me movement looks acceptable. But seems to be overpolished on both sides and case back.
Asking price is 800 usd.

Polishing might still be acceptable

Dial seems to have spotting that it is off the normal and would keep me from buying it

Movement picture is very small so you can't see exactely whats the matter with it.
The color of the bridge seems to differ from the other movement parts so it could be taken from another movement

I may be wrong but I have one which looks unpolished to me: the sides have a light vertical brushing, not a mirror finish.
