    Hi all

I have been trying to buy my first vintage omega but I am a bit confused on what to get and what price to pay. I have come across an auction house who is selling an Omega Geneve 1969 with a blue dial. I would be grateful if I can have any advice on the authenticity and whether it is worth paying £500. I cannot also trace the case ref in the omega database.

    Thank you in advance.

    Warren

Try to look at past sold listings of the reference on the caseback, 166.070 and see if you are overpaying or not. As for the condition I'm no expert unfortunately.

    Hi @Shay

The dial looks like it has some damage between 11 and 12 and 1 and 2 and the rotor has some corrosion/wear.

It may be worthwhile to spend some time on the forum here and get a feel for the price of various omega references and what to look for with regards to condition.

This will increase your confidence when deciding to buy.

There appears to be some wear on the rotor.
Chrono24 prices are unrealistic. Check completed auction prices on ebay for a better idea of market.
