Hi there, I am hoping to buy a beautiful watch that will last as my graduation gift. I would love a vintage Omega and I found this one. I adore it. But it is my first time buying a vintage watch so I want to be sure. I've tried to do some homework but I would appreciate your expert advice. The specs I have are that it is a Seamaster Automatic with Date. The Ref. is 14760, Cal.560, Stainless Steel with an outer diameter of 36mm. It does not have papers. The person that is selling it is a reputable professional, and trustworthy based on my interactions with them (face-to-face). I did my best to take some pictures - sorry the quality is not great. I live in the US - so if i understand correctly, I am not able to receive an extract from Omega's archives. I am wondering: 1. Are there any red-flags based on the specs and pictures? I've read that the original crowns have the omega symbol on them - please note that this one does have it... sorry i didn't get a picture of that. 2. The strap is generic and I am thinking about eventually replacing it. Do you have advice on the kind of strap I should seek? For example is there an authoritative 'authentic' style close to the original? I think its 18mm width. 3. Any other questions I should ask or things to consider before purchasing? It has been recently serviced and would come with a 1 year warranty and an expectation to service roughly every 4-5 years. Thank you so much for your guidance, and for bearing with my lack of expertise if i mis-characterized anything in my description!
Hi hoipolloi, Thanks. Sorry to bug you but can you please help me to see the problem with the dial repainting? My eyes are untrained and so I’d like to learn what to look for. Thanks again for your guidance. M. Bozorg

I decided not to purchase it based on your advice - thank you. Please wish me luck as I study up and hope to find something reliable!
