I called the local boutique yesterday to ask if they had a Speedy day/date in silver for me to look at. I was told no, because the day/dates were being discontinued. Why? The salesman guessed they would be eventually replaced with coaxial models, but no replacements at this time. According to him, there are exactly 7 of the silver ones with 3606 caliber remaining in the States. And naturally, he's ordering one and will attempt to lure me in when it arrives. I think if I were going to pay full retail, it wouldn't be for a discontinued model.
