I have been suffering a form of depression the last couple of day, you may know it, you probably have empathy from similar experience with that great sower of despair and rage and some times even joy.

Purchased after a lot of agonizing and hand wringing a Titanium Quartz Chronograph watch that sails well below most peoples radar, mine included, but it just did something for me and I had to have it, even though it was a lowly shunned ( by me ) quartz.

Eventually I succumbed and hit the big blue buy it now button, paid for it sent delivery addresses and the like and waited and waited, a week later the seller informed me that it had been in secure storage but now could not be found!
Money refunded...... but I still want it ahhhhh, super frustration.

What I don’t understand is how a seller can have something listed for sale, but it’s not accessible- as in “storage”.

You dodged a bullet. 😁

Quite likely but it was a Titanium bullet 😁

I was looking forward to using it as an everyday beater watch but with the fashion styling that meant I could wear it anywhere, I could opt for a Seiko version but they don't look quite the same and I am a little bit over Seiko at the moment, too many in the collection and they don't have the same pulling power for me that they seem to have for others and until the economic effects of Covid subside I wont be looking for some of the more expensive auto mechanicals Titanium's that I have seen on the forum and drooled over.

Ah that’s too bad you thought you had it and you don’t. Some things just strike you, I get it. I picked up a weird dial vostok and a baby blue dialed seiko a few people scoffed at them but I like them. I missed 3 watches as sellers didn’t wait one day for me to pick it up on a Saturday and sold them on Friday. I feel your pain, I’m with you brother, but you, like I, shall overcome this and be a better man for it.

Seller is using ebay for beta testing the price to charge, eventually.

A g shock makes a much better beater IMHO.

Maye but I have yet to see a G Shock I am not repulsed by 😁
Have got a couple of AW80's (3) nice and functional and cheaper than a McDonalds takeaway meal 🙄

Well you don't understand internet selling. Vast majority of sales are not in an inventory by the seller. Some are, and that's good, but a huge amount are sold by proxy. The seller is not in possession, rather acting on behalf of someone else. Happens all the time. I would estimate easily the vast majority of ebay and Amazon is this way.

That would explain the unlikely explanation I got.

Agreed. Can see the proxy sale argument but think it's more people underselling and then getting greedy. Normally happens on bid items rather than Buy it Now. Happened to me on a set of Audi roof bars. Secured cheap on a 'start it low' auction. Seller then was 'on holiday' then couldn't find them when he returned (really? a set of bloody roof bars? you managed to photograph them not 10 days ago??). Obviously he didn't want to sell them for a fiver.

probably he wasn't to get a good deal from the first seller or first owner to flip to the OP. 😕🤦

Have had it happen a few times to me also.

Particularly with watches and jewelry, some sellers do not even own the product listed. They have a way to acquire at a significant discount vs their list price. Keep a close eye on the estimated delivery date and you'll notice some sellers won't ship for 2-4 weeks.

Well the story continues, I had a permanent search on for this watches calibre and reference on eBay and finally one turned up for sale, same city same area, different photos but the same watch under a different seller selling the same types of items ( dual account?) for 15.00 pounds more.
Close inspection of photos reveals it is categorically the same watch from marks on the back due to past battery replacement, original seller did not respond to my email for clarification so I bit the bullet and paid the higher price.
Will have to see what happens this time, is it all just a scam? who knows.

ebay sucks or maybe just sellers do, normally I dont have any problems.
