Hi, I am wondering if anyone can tell me if this is real Omega watch? And what is it worth if it is genuine? I don't know much about it, but the seller tells me it is insured for $8,500. I have seen the watch and saw on the band the stamp of 750, but haven't really check it properly as I am not sure what to watch out for. This is the photo. can't see much from it, but I have arrange to pick up the watch this afternoon. So if anyone can tell me what it is I need to look at the watch to insure the authenticity. Thanks in advance

i am using a tablet but cannot even see an omega logo making it pretty much impossible to verify. I do not know hom much it is on sale for but I suggest you view the watch, take lots of clear photo's including close ups of the dial and movement. Then post the pic's here and the knowledgable ones will be able to make informed comments.

You need to search completed listings on ebay for similar solid gold omega ladies watches that sold, not asking prices. I have no idea of the worth of those example, but I suspect its nowhere (and I do mean nowhere) near $8500.

Weight the watch & bracelet, multiply by the gold content multiply by gold price today. Add 5% for upper range. That's what that watch worth.
Unfortunately not much love for classic vintage ladies watch. Be it Omega.

This is a ladies Omega Saphette. The watch as such is nice enough. However the value is not a cent above the gold weight. Even with a solid 18k Bracelet that would not amount to anywhere near the insured value. The case itself may contain about 10grams of gold. For the bracelet I am more unsure, but a guess would be 50-75 grams. At USD30 per gram and 75 grams total weight (remember I am only guessing) it would be worth USD2250. And that is only if it has a heavy solid gold bracelet!

Remember to substract the weight of the movement. Also use the buying price of gold and not the selling price at a trader.

Those vintage gold pieces are plentiful on the used market if you look. Worth just the weight in gold that's about it.
