How long does it take between ordering an extract and it arriving, typically? It seems like a fair bit of research and then if they're signed/sent in batches, I'd imaging a couple of months?

About six weeks typically, for me.

Very timely thread @pmontoyap. I finally got signed up to Omega today. Had a bit of aggravation at first because I wasn't receiving the validation email. Eventually managed to get it and set a my Omega account.
Strange set up when they ask you to add your own watch to the account. There was no drop down for vintage Speedmasters. Anyway... I'm all set now. I hope it's worth the effort and expense.::confused2::

Does anyone think Omega will create a modern database for their records eventually? I worry that some of their cassettes and old computers will be put out of order eventually, never to be recovered again. I think that modernizing the records would also make the extract process much faster and more affordable. However, I'm imagining Omega has already digitized these records just to be safe... but they are on no mission to offer up the most affordable archive program. Just food for thought :D

Okay, I feel better about coughing up $150.00 for an extract.

Imagine paying swiss wages to a group of people for years just to be able to digitize millions of entries. Dont think it will happen because it makes no economic sense. Im sure they started using digital records at some point but whats in film will remain in film. Im sure they have a controlled enviroment and a good fire suppression system. A new Omega Museum is under construction and they will probably be even safer there
