    Hi all,

I've read Desmond's constellation crowns essay

    http://205.196.121.222/isa3v77qgg9g/mm3gmu3zyy2/Omega_Constellation_Crowns.pdf

As it's said, there are two types of decagonal crowns; the 4219 (still available) and the 4204 (no longer on omega official inventory).

    I have a 14802 case with a 4219 crown, and a 168.005 case with a 4204 crown.

Does it mean that both cases have any difference that requires its specific crown?

If I ever need to change the crown on my 168.005, will the 4219 fit?

    Thanks.

They will fit but you may need a new stem, or a trim of the old one. I would stock up on a few spare crowns now...

The difference is the diameter of the case tube, the part that protrudes from the side of the case.

4219 would fit but will not seal against the case tube.

    4219 is for a 2.5mm case tube, 4204 is for a 2mm case tube.

Does it mean that all 14802 cases have a 2,5mm case tube, and all 168.005 a 2mm?

How difficult is to find an original NOS 4204 crown?

Well, you can't get one anytime you want to. It is more persistence and time. They show up every so often. One needs to be cautious as some dealers will sell counterfeits and sometimes 42019s are sold as BF 1080 or 42004.
