When I asked this to one of the top managers of Zenith at Baselworld earlier this year upon trying out the gold ones, he said NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. But don't put your money on my word...they will do whatever they please.
They already do and have been for years- https://m.zenith-watches.com/en_en_m/el-primero-original-1969-45.html No, it’s not a 1:1 reedition, but it’s fairly close and quite nice on the wrist (says the dude who could give a sh*t about the A386)
Re-edition appeared flat and 2-dimensional to me. Much prefer the original, which has a 3-D appearance and classier fonts and serifs.
I got the same reply, I would be surprised if they now turned around with a non limited steel one now. There is a steel version in the anniversary box set (with 2 "modern" watches). That was limited to 50 units. I can envisage a non limited A386 revival in steel if a MK2/3 case is used. The ones we have had so far have used a MK1 case. Maybe I've just started the rumour for you.
