Picked up this watch today. Even on vacations I look for interesting watches. The seller of this one had it in a box full of junk watches. I picked this one up and asked for price. He said I don't know, make me an offer. I did and walked away with this beauty. The beautiful Singer made dial is signed Jaques Monnat but the watch is essentially an Ollech & Wajs ref. 2003 with Valjoux 72 movement !! This quick picture does not do it justice. The dial is a color of coffee with lots of milk. The luminescent hour markers and center hands still glow in the dark. The Km. number markers are pink. The bezel has a Bakelite insert. Original thick domed crystal has a few scratches but will polish real nice. The case is super, original unpolished condition!! Screw in crown and back. I would love to find a leather strap the color of the bezel insert.
Nice find! Immediately thought of this, seems close from the pictures. https://toshi-straps.co.uk/straps/sky-blue/
Thanks, not the color I want. I may find a piece of leather in my local leather shop and make my own band closely approximating the background color of the dial.
