·Hello my name is Jen and I have been advised to join the Omega forum to see if anyone can help me with a very unusual ladies Omega watch I bought some time ago...I have tried to trace it back and the person I bought it off on ebay said they had bought it off a Swiss watch dealer as ---new but old stock
Anyway I loved the watch face and bought it as an advertised ladies vintage Omega watch trusting it was an Omega. I had only just started buying on ebay and didnt realise that some people may not be truthful. it had an Omega crown and nothing else ie no makers name on the face, but it was so lovely I had to buy it.
I love watches and cannot pass a jewellers window without looking at them all. over the years I have amassed about 100+ watches of various makes but nothing in the designer end.
I have made a good relationship with my local watch repairers/makers of 65 years standing and they are CMBHI. I took the watch to them and asked just out of curiosity if they thought this was a genuine Omega or a ' mickey mouse ' one. they took the back of and yes the watch mechanism was stamped Omega and so was the inside of its stainless steel case. it had a number on it and I found that it meant OMEGA DEVILLE 1969 and the letters LL which I think is Luxembourg. The's two very experienced watch repairers had never ever seen an Omega watch like it and thought that maybe it was especially made for someone.
Scanning the the Omega section of ebay I came across an advert who said they specialised in certain Omega watches and decided to write to him and send some photographs of it. He said he had never seen a watch like this but didn't deal with ladies Omega watches of 1970 onwards and only mens watches ( the big butch things ). he has advised me to join the Omega forum and ' put it out there ' to see if any of your learned gentlemen or ladies could help me.....in advance thank you for your time...I hope the photographs can help. thank you very much Jen ( Jennifer )
