My wife is working this weekend and therefore I started with a manly brunch.

Then went for a walk with the dog (dogsitting my brothers hunting dog this weekend). The spring is coming along fine in Sweden now.

Then it was time for some watches. Sitting outside in the sun with the watches that got to come with me this weekend.

This Kontiki Super has not been to the doctor yet but seems to enjoy the sun anyway.

Then it was time for a cigar.

This old Seiko chronograph is difficult to do justice in pictures. It never seem to photograph well. In real life it is wonderful.

    And so is this.

This - though - is really photogenic.

Together they represent versions of the early automatic chronographs. Some argue about which one was first. I do not. I just a enjoy them all.

Then some biguns. Just colourful big watches.

The Memomatic has not taken its rightful place among collectors - in my opinion. When introduced it got the grand horolgie prize for its solution for automatically winding both the watch and the alarm. And you can set the alarm to the minute (compare to other alarmwatches at the time - and now). It was expensive then and it should be today - but it is not.

I wear it on a Hirsch Monaco alligator that I bought in 2007. 22mm.

And then the really heavy artillery.

But the watch for today - WRUW done in this post.

A good friday. Will see what watches that are alowed out next weekend.

Seems like you had a really good day :)

Since I've seen you around for quite a few years now, I find it interesting to see the shift in focus from golden, blingy, shiny dresswatches to chunkier s/s tool watches.

I prefer the latter, and have prefered them over the more sophisticated dress-watches :)

Nice selection! The Z one would be my favorite! ::love:: Consider/interpret this last comment officially a dibs proclamation! ;) That's a nice chunk of alligator skin, I wish Hirsch would make this type/style to fit a Breitling deployant! ;) Enjoy the sounds and sights of an early spring!

P.S. Edit: I just can't do eggs and beer at the same time! :D

Great post! Love the autavia, but there's something nagging about those viceroy colors on a 11630 setting... I can't help but keep thinking that the 1163 setup is the "natural environment" for those.

Hmmm... Have not thought about it. But you might be right. I have not abandoned the blingy, shiny dresswatches though - I have just broadened my perspective. ;)

A very out of focus pic.
