Tonight I had the wonderful opportunity to meet one of our fine members @Kreindog24(Chris) while he was visiting Buffalo for work. It was an awesome opportunity to not only put a face to the name but develop a friendship among other Watch collectors as well. This was my first watch GTG and it was incredibly fun. I don't think I've ever geeked out so hard over watches. The hours flew by as we chatted about the watches we brought, how we came to get the watches, other OF members, future purchases, grails, podcasts, straps, and so on. Yes eventually we did talk about our lives outside of the watch world too! I think GTGs may possibly lead me to a steep downward slope of buying more watches than I can afford. It was very cool to see so many watches in person that either I have never seen before, or have only seen at dealers. Anyway enough with the talking I suppose. Here are some of the pictures... Everyone knows I love my PADI, but I got a taste of some Blue Lagoon And then things got a bit Dynamic I have always loved the look of vintage military watches, but haven't been able to bring myself to actually buy one.... now I know I can And a gorgeous C case Connie of Chris's got to meet an older and younger cousin Sticking with the Omega theme, this plaid/textured dial seamaster is out of this world. Photos do not do this thing justice! It is truly wild And for the first time for me I actually got to wear a Black Bay. I've only every tried on the awkwardly large bracelets at the AD. I know I'm going to have a BB red(or maybe blue. Or maybe bronze... idk!) eventually. And I don't think I'll be able to resist the Tank life for much longer after wearing this one... And now some group shots! And I just realized now that we forgot to fulfill a request from @ahartfie and take a selfie. I guess we will have to take it next time Chris is in town (or when I make it out to Western Massachusetts). Thanks for looking everyone! I know Chris has more pics to add as well -Jake
Sounds like it was a super fun time. It's an amazing thing to have your first watch GTG after living in what feels like a WIS desert. Here's to many more!
Amazing pictures looks like a great was had by all... I'm very lucky to have work colleague who is just as mad about watches as me so lots of watch talk goe on... I also really wanted a Tudor black and jumped in last year with a black bay red and its one my favourite watches after getting some advice from a forum member.
