A while back I managed to acquire a Mitsukoshi dial and hand set. The plan was to buy a second Speedy and to fit the Mitsukoshi set to that watch to compliment my existing 3573.50. Recently I got to see a CK2998 close up. Now I'm wondering whether I should switch gears and acquire a CK2998 or continue with the Mitsukoshi project as planned. Any considerations on which course of action to take? MTIA!
If you love the CK2998, get it now before they're all sold out. As for the Mitsukoshi, you have the dial and hands, which is the most important part, and can be done at any time.
Agree to what @shutterlife said. If the choice is only between real vs modded, I'd say it's better to choose a real piece. CK is nice. And yes, you can always do the Mitsu mod anytime in the future.
My suggestion. Finish it. Speaking from my own experience It's a great project and a beautiful end result. Then you can decide what to do from there. For me, it will be a keeper.
If its me, i will choose the Mitsukoshi mod project over CK2998 which over time, loses its appeal to me i guess.
Actually, I think you will be able to pick up either a CK2998 or a donor 3570.50 at anytime (maybe with a short wait) that you should get the one that you like the best at the time you are ready to drop the cash.
