Initially, when I first set out on my 75 minutes drive to look at this, my whole hearted intention, initially, was to purchase it and immediately offer it to someone here on OF. I viewed this package as as something that NEEDED to remain in the OF family.

The seller informed me that a woman, who appeared to be in her seventies walked into his store to sell it. It belonged to her late husband who was the original owner. The outer box was quite worn so I didn’t get my hopes up.

So as I have been on record stating my grail constellation is a rose gold deluxe. I have been on somewhat of spending spree lately so I have sworn off more watch purchases for the time being. This was solely to be bought and brought home to the family. Not for me. Not going to keep it. Nope.

That went out the window as soon as I opened the box.

Here is all the accessories in all there glory!

Finally, here she is on the wrist:

The stain you see near 1 o’clock marker is actually in the crystal and not the dial thank God. I’m not sure how the crystal got stained like that. Looks like maybe ash from a cigarette? Bracelet, according to @JwRosenthal and @seekingseaquest was produced for a very short period of time as these usually came on BORs. Thank you to both of you by the way for letting me bend your ear in my excitement with questions and inquiries.

So there you have it. I decided to keep it. Blame @JwRosenthal he talked me out of it

Stunning! And that bracelet looks oddly familiar. Is it the '61 factory 1-year only gold version? I was honored to pick up a '61 Pre-DeVille Seamaster in stainless from @JwRosenthal with what looks like that very same bracelet design.

And since nobody else has beat me to it....DIBS!!

Yeah it's that peanut-link bracelet. Neat design, but I completely understand why it was superseded by the BOR.

It is indeed the same bracelet in gold, only the third like this I have seen. It appears in a catalog pic I saved once upon a time (probably on a previous phone) from c 1961-‘62.

And Niko, this really is a treat just to see a full kit like this. I’m sure when the original owner donned this on his wrist in 1961, he felt like he had made it.

Im sure he did as well. It definitely made my heart flutter when I first opened the box and my hands were shaking a little bit when I started handling it.

Sheesh, the watch alone is drop dead gorgeous but also with the full set becomes a true treasure. Wear in good health!

@JwRosenthal, I hope you don't mind my sharing your photos...I believe this is the Ad, and one of your photos of the piece I picked up from you, for comparison.
