Jeweler/watchmaker brand that is over a hundred years old. Sold some ETA based chronographs a few decades ago as well. Their watches are sort of middle tier in terms of quality.
Retailer in the Schwanenplatz in Lucerne. Gubelin (another huge retailer that brands its own stuff sometimes) is just across the street, and any manufacture that doesn't have a brand boutique within a block isn't worth discussing. It's the epicenter of Chinese watch tourism in Switzerland - they drop 'em off one busload every 15 minutes, practically at Bucherer's door. It has to be seen to be believed.
Bucherer had a lot of brands make watches for them. They do have one claim to fame with their Archimedes Supercompressor from the late 60's / early 70's. It's almost a grail among vintage dive watch collectors. Owned a couple Bucherers myself, including one70's cushion case diver years ago with an ETA inside. Almost as interesting as a Bulova Snorkel.
