A rare find, 1501 blue mosaic dial

I’m considering purchase this watch from a local dealer. Can’t wait to see it in person. Normally I’m not fond of 34mm watch, but this shantung mosaic dial is beautiful. Just want to share with you.

That’s a beauty! Be aware that the dial on these deteriorate around the lume. The 1501, especially with that bezel wears more like 35mm and the lugs are generally fatter than 1002/5500.

I do love the dial ... but ...

I also want to mention the dial degradation, which will continue to get worse. It starts right around the lume plots (and you can absolutely see this on the OP watch), and then it spreads pretty rapidly, in my experience. I had a great blue DateJust and when I got it, the paint loss was barely noticeable. But then over just a few years, the deterioration spread so quickly, that I felt the need to sell it ASAP.

I just got it from the dealer. Looks fantastic. The areas around the lume plots surely turned. But I wonder if it could spread quickly as mentioned above. Let’s wait and see then.
