Good morning, I have a new purchase coming in. A Heuer Autavia 1163 that is missing it's bezel.

I found a bezel that appears to be a correct Minute/Hour rotating bezel. The bezel has some wear, but the level of wear appears to be commensurate with the appearance of the watch.
Being a novice with regards to Heuer parts, what can I expect to pay (fair price) for a 1163 bezel.
    Thanks for your input.

Hard to say since there aren't very many out there, and there's not a huge market. At this point, it really depends on how badly you want to complete your watch, and how much you feel comfortable paying.

One was offered on Chronotrader for 500 Euros earlier this year and and sold immediately. Another in 2017 described as NOS was offered for 1000 Euros.

Quite literally, my guess would be as good as yours - I could Google it and check eBay / WatchRecon, but you've probably already done that

I have. Not much info out there is the problem. I will ask over at the Heuer Forum too.

Another question. Is a Minute/Hour bezel more or less desirable than a Tachymeter bezel for 1163?

Depends on the model. The white/blue model was originally spec’d with a tachy while the black/red a MH. But the Viceroy was spec’d with a tachy.

Except, either could be bought new with the watch as they were easily swapped by dealers depending on customer preference. There are many Viceroys out there with MH bezels etc

it would be far easier to find a complete watch than it would be to complete this one.

True, but the last time it worked out OK.

Although it did take a few months to source a DON (not shown)

That's the thing, though - Speedmaster bezels (and Rolex bezels) are commoditized - Heuer parts aren't really. So I agree, it'd be much easier to find a ratty, messed up complete watch and cannibalize it. I see plenty of Viceroys with decent cases/bezels but missing hands and such. It'd be useful to have movement spares too....
