Not an expert at all, just love radioactivity :D

Didn't noticed the scratch on professional when I first view it, and this would normally keep me away from the watch. The lume on the hour markers, while looks nice, would make me at least being suspicious and asking for more pictures. This is not the watch I'd like for 7.750€
But with the value of the bezel and the crazy market, who knows...

Since there is no exact consensus, I'll leave my ugly lume on for now...haha

The type of lume you describe is often found on vintage SM300s dials which had been subjected to long periods of high humidity.

    Just an observation.
The two pictures from the OP show the 'smudge' on 'PROFESSIONAL' in different places.
On one picture it's at the top half and on the other it's the bottom !!
Could this be a polished scratch on the crystal distorting the dial depending upon the angle at which the dial is being photographed.
So - maybe no damage to the word 'PROFESSIONAL' on the dial.
    I may be wrong but........

Was raised with the seller and this is the reply to the question. Maybe miscommunicated

Oddboy I have asked for a picture in the dark after exposure to florescent light but there seems to be some resistance to my requests

Yeah, some sellers are like that, because if not you, someone else will buy it.

I'd remain persistent and try to get more / better pics. A daylight pic is essential, for me, more so than the lume shot.

You may also try seeing if the seller is open to a phone call.

Thank you all for your input and patience.
The lume shot finally came through.

And finally a few daylight pics, though I am still not sure what to look for, any guidance would be appreciated.

Damn, I should have said "in focus pics in sunlight"

I might lean towards original, but it's hard to tell much more from these pics.

As to what to look for, I'd like to see in focus, close up pics of these lume to assess it's texture, evenness, accuracy. Does it look like tritium? Is it applied evenly and smoothly, does it (mostly) stay within the lines.

Again, hard to say with these pics unfortunately.

Agree with Joel. Definitely swaying towards original for the hour markers but pics aren't great.

    @The_Walrus
Dial lume looks fine to me. I would want the chrono and minute/hour hands to be matching in color, or at least very, very close (often the handset lume coloration will be a shade different from the Tritium on the hour markers even though everything is original) to persuade me to believe that they are not replacements. In the example you've posted, they look very mismatched and I'd say the chrono is either a replacement or it's been re-lumed. The hour/minute hands may be original. Alas, I would feel better about my POV if you had some clear macro shots like @BartH

I wonder if the indices - minute and hour hands - and that green chrono all fade at different times???::confused2::

In my opinion the dial lume looks original. And the professional doesn't look smudged in the daylight pics. Nice clean dial. Did you ask how long the lume lasted after exposure to light? Should fade pretty quickly.

Chrono hand color would bother me a bit, but overall nice watch. Personally I would buy it.

I think the dial lume is ok ! However an excellent relume is nearly impossible to spot...
