I have been patiently waiting for these for months, but they finally arrived. First, 1954 Cal 354 ref 2782 Second, 1962 Cal 561 ref 14902, later to become 168.005
That '54 is just jaw dropping. Is it solid or plated gold? The dial is just perfect and the original crisp bezel, man i wish my '56 had that crisp of a case!
Thank You. They are certainly a fortuitous find. It's 18k. And I'm glad I could keep this pair together.
sorry I'm late to the love-fest -the sun is just rising in Dubai-land a lovely lovely pair of Connies the cases on both are fantastic -you could cut yourself on the 14902 but I have to agree that the 18k 2782 is the star of the show -the case, the dial...wow! I suspect the crystal on the 14902 is doing the dial a great disservice because it looks really clean under there -I think this would also be an eye-popping watch if you could see the dial in its full glory -I know the crystal looks like it might be the original but will you have it replaced? -and if you do post more pictures! congratulations on both
Thank You Peemacgee for your very kind words. These are heirloom watches that belonged to the seller's late father. He unfortunately was forced to sell them and they were offered to me through a friend. The 2782 looks like it has had very little wrist time while 14902 has seen more wear and is not running. Crystals and crowns appear to be the original ones. Dials are pristine. I have not decided if they are going to Omega, but I'm reluctant to subject them to such intervention. I think a COR from my watchmaker and some more crystal polishing is all they are going to get for now. Thanks once again
No worries I have a very good watchmaker and I'm probably going to go with him. Just can't part with the watches yet! But also wary to wear them as I don't think they have been run in years
