this is a nice piece but someone decided they needed to add a partial 6 to the dial when it should be left blank. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...rentrq:64a43bca1670aa16a6e3ef65fffbe4df|iid:1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I'm unfamiliar with this Zenith model, but partial 6's aren't uncommonly found. Do you feel the example you found is a redial or just someone's whim? I'll admit that the partial 6 isn't as well executed as the other numerals. The applied markers on this Longines include a partial 6.
I think the OP just means that Zenith should have left it off, as should Longines on the second one. Partial numbers to me, especially on the IWC Portuguese, are just terrible looking. There are lots of watches that I love the look of that I simply wouldn't buy because they couldn't figure out how to either design it so that the numerals weren't cut off, or they didn't just leave them off entirely.
It’s looks like it was hand drawn with a Sharpie. It doesn’t match the other numbers and spills onto the sub dial. Yes some models have partial 6s but this one looks a 1950 model that shouldn’t have it. I wonder if it could be removed without much damage to the dial.
Couldn't agree more. This is like someone buying a nice 3' x 2' painting, then cutting it down to 2' x 1' to fit their favorite frame.
