If any of our Australian contingent would like to contact the auction house, this poor (fake) Connie needs to be put out of its misery.
would be interesting to see what is inside with 25 jewels…..

Good god. I appreciate many auction houses don’t have watch specialists but the amount of fake Omegas get actually get listed surprises me.

C’mon! Give credit where credit is due. It takes a very steady hand and high-quality pen to render a dial like that…

Standing upside down 24/7/365 does strange things to people, sometimes.

I mean cutting out pieces of construction paper that small takes talent! I wonder if they used gluestick or library paste to attach it?

I follow a number of auction sites down under and the amount of fakes I observe is scary - some of the auction houses don’t bother with any kind of authentication or even a basic Google search. Buyer beware!

I've always wondered how auction houses can justify charging their premiums while doing the bare minimum when it comes to photography and authentication...

Having just taking an interest in these matters, and thus not knowing much, what are the tell tale signs of fakery here?

Where to begin…
The text font is all wrong, as are the markers, date window, pie pan shape and size

Omg you are right it took me a minute but that actually is paper stuck on there isn’t it. I mean it’s impressive to take it to that level, disgusting but impressive.

The thing that annoys me the most about that auction…. The photos. Fakes, redials, POS watches, whatever… those photos are blurry and full of glare! The person taking pictures had ONE JOB!

a less trusting person would see those blurry images and think that the auction house took shitty photos on purpose…

The photographer probably knew and tried to hide it as best they could..!
