Young man claims he is selling his Grandfather's watch and the pics looked pretty nice but seller had a big zero rating. Took a shot yesterday and won it and it is quite a find. First positive indication was the watch arriving overnight, well packed, set from yesterday and keeping perfect time with the chrono running and looking fabulous. Caseback was LOCKED on solid and after some muscle it gave way to indicate it had probably never been opened since the factory and never serviced. No service markings! Note the melted gasket. Dial, lume, DON bezel, hands, monster, pristine case.......fabulous. Movement number indicates a very early 145.022-69. Watch was hardly every worn, a scratch on the crystal. Probably sat in a draw for decades. Very pleased to say the least.
Congrats, great watch. I had one in similar condition with a similar story but sold it. Still regret that decision!!
and now...... lets see: take it apart. bezel DON: 600.dial and hands:200.case:1200.crown:80.movement:1000.....or something like that..... just joking. very nice; enjoy it! kind regards. achim
I don't think the seller or his late grandfather would appreciate that. This watch will stay whole. And DON bezel for $600?? Probably $1,000 before long
Awesome! You and Pahawi can form a club! You could have good use for his homemade caseopener too Congrats!
amazing... but what the does DON mean? are you calculating together the resale value of each of the parts?
hey, DON bezel for over $ 1000? don`t get greedy ! and the amag. cover is correct; had a few polished ones. but this one looks like new anyway.....nice find ! kind regards. achim
