I went to an National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors regional meeting and mart in Lexington, KY USA Friday. This is a fantastic little event and over the years I have always added a gem or two to my collection at this show. This year however, I sold a few pieces but just couldn't find that perfect watch to buy. But...on the drive back home I stopped at a small town jewelry store and the guy pulled this little beauty out of his safe. It had all of the links to fit my big wrist and included the box and all of the paperwork. It was dirty but I think it cleaned up pretty well.

I haven't worn a Datejust in a long time. I am tall guy with big wrists and they have always seemed little on me. This one seems little too but it has been a great change from bigger watches I usually wear. I don't even notice it is there. I do love the dial.

If by 41s you mean 41mm...that's a big no. This watch is from 1985. It is 36mm.

right, i know that is a previous gen datejust. I was merely inquiring if you had tried the 41s because you said they seemed little to you.

Ahhh, I've got you. Sorry for being slow on the uptake. I have owned a couple of the new bigger Datejusts. The wear just perfectly for me. I guess they just aren't my style. I go for chronos and sport watches even for most suit wearing occasions. My dress watches tend to be the larger of the classic Calatrava style (38mm at least) or weirdo looking '70s arty style.

Datejust 36mm stainless, machine bezel, a classic. Machine bezel no longer offered on Datejust.
