Hi all! Its been a while since a posted on OF, but wanted to share this little find with you guys I bought a lot of three watches of a "watch guy" at the local flea market. Ive bought some vintage Certinas from him before, but this time he had something that fits this forum a bit better. This is what I bought for $200 (!!!) (The Omega is at the bottom): A Certina DS Automatic from the early 60s. I love these watches as they run great and can be worn as "beaters". The movement looks to be in good condition and the rest is a vintage beater worthy This Longines looks to be in great condition. The dial is beautiful and the case is in good shape. It will get some TLC tonight Its a ref. 6738 from 1956 with a 23ZN-movement btw. This is the "crown jewel" of the lot A ref. 2937 from 1958 with a beautiful black dial. Everything looks to be in good vintage condition. What do you guys think?
Love your Seamaster, my cousins 2938 cal. 284, also from 1958 says hello! Notice the dials are similar
Thanks! Those look very nice, the dials are in the exact same style Haha.. You've got a point He's a "watch guy" in the sense that he always has a lot of watches for sale. It doesnt hurt to try, right? These are all "catch and release"-watches but your estimate is a bit low
Some pictures after the Longines got a bit of TLC And some pictures of the Omega just because The Omega needs to be taken apart as the case needs a good cleaning.
Congrats, the Seamaster is amazing, and for $200 the lot you can't go wrong. That being said - are you sure the Longines logo isn't a bit off? .... I'm only asking because you asked for our opinion. Hard to see without a crisp and frontal picture. Best regards
Thanks for the input! I'll take a frontal picture tomorrow. The dial looks good to me btw. There is a few comparable examples online and it checks all the right boxes
