So as indicated in a previous thread, my watchmaker is located in a neighborhood of Paris with a bit of a village culture, and on my last visit he dragged me to a nearby pawn shop where they had a couple of nice gold watches-- including this 34mm Longines.
I find it quite lovely. Does anyone know what caliber it is?
I'm posting it just for everyone's enjoyment as I have no purchase plan, this is not the era I follow. Still a very nice watch.
    Best regards,
    S
(PS- I may not see replies for a couple weeks as I will be travelling off grid ...enjoy the watch.)

19.4s. Introduced in 52/53. Is the center seconds version of 19.4 which either had sub-seconds or no second hand. I haven't seen the center second variety often. No seconds version often used in the 'Mystery Dial' watches. That example looks nice and 18k not very common. Great watch. Thanks for posting.

    Very nice, and definitely uncommon!

I like the classic, conservative style, and believe that the 19.4(s) movements were designed for thinner models.

19.4 movements were designed for thin watches. They were used in higher-end Longines watches that are usually very restrained in their design. Obviously, your example saw very little wrist time. Below 700 euros would be a good price.

@Syrte is going to bankrupt me with her Parisian pawnshop finds. Lovely watch!
