A little refinishing goes a long way

Greetings forum,

I bought this El Primero Surf from a Canadian OF member back in Jan 24. It had been serviced by an indy in 2020 and prior to that by Zenith in 2013. Case was good for it's age but did have the odd dint and a flat near one of the lugs. However, the dial was in great condition which is what grabbed my attention.

It got alot of wrist time both on the contemporary Forstner ladder bracelet it came on and the odd leather strap. Despite being quite a chunky fella at 13mm thick the 36mm size felt right on my skinny 6.5" wrists.

However the more I wore it the more I suspected that the all over brushed effect didn't feel quite original and I suspected it had been refinished incorrectly, and a little heavy handedly at some point

A little googling confirmed my suspicions and indicated that just the top surface of the case should have been brushed, the bezel and sides polished.

So here she is after a short trip to Mitka's workbench

I'm more than pleased with the result and many thanks to @Mitka for a great job.

Would love to find an original Zenith steel bracelet with correct endlinks but until then I think the Bulang strap is a lovely combo.
