Pick up this omega constellation as faulty the watch is fully working but needed looking at
As you can see the day wheel is stuck but the rest of the watch was operating perfectly
whilst waiting for delivery I was thinking what It could be, I was thinking towards maybe it’s been dropped and the spring as slipped causing it to get stuck but this wasn’t the case after opening it up.
I’ve been collecting/ tinkering and fixing different omegas for just over a year now all self taught and a little help n information from here , doing little jobs like removing dials/ hands to fix setting lever springs these are very popular and very prone to breaking and have fixed a fair few of them a few balance wheel swaps they still scares me thinking about having to remove one and a few stems cutting and attaching new crowns.
This is the first time working on a day date and it wasn’t as difficult as it looks bear in mind I’m a complete amateur lol but have always been hands on I always give everything a go what could go wrong lol . after receiving I removed the movement from the case and carefully removed the hands and dial, under the dial I removed the day wheel which is very easy to remove it’s just held with a little pressure from that spring I was taking about earlier revealing the top cover plate that holds the date wheel in place a screw head had completely snapped off I didn’t get a picture but once removed you can see the snapped screw only a very small portion of the screw was poking out and luckily I could get my tweezers and carefully unscrew it
This snapped screw was causing slight lift on that cover putting pressure on the day wheel and then touching the back side of the dial causing it to get stuck.
After finding a replacement screw and putting it back together with the dial off to test the operation of the day n date wheels and flicking over at 12pm the day was miles out to the date and wasn’t flicking over at the same time after a little research there is a little hand this gear that turns (circled in blue ) this is what flicks over at 12 it’s quite tight and took a little trial and error turning it backwards and forwards to get it to align with the date but got it bang on and they now both flick over at 12 on the dot.
Fitting the dial and hands
And giving it one last test checking all flicks over at 12 before putting it back in the case
It’s now all back together and working perfectly it’s on a nice original brick bracelet which I’ll attach a picture later.

Nicely done - I've shown photos before of the sync procedure, but since I just did one of these I made a quick video...

Yea I may have done it a little backwards then lol I just put the day wheel back in very easy to take on and off and takes seconds as your probably aware and I just adjusted the time seeing the difference if it was fast or slow and and turning it either way probably took 5 ish attempts on and off but got spot on in the end.

Where is the head of the broken screw?
When I removed date wheel it was just underneath thinking about it this was probably causing the slight lift also

It’s now all back together and working perfectly
Well done, now you just need to find a new seconds hand to complete the job 😉.

Is that logo original on the dial? My poor eyesight is seeing the G lower than the other letters? Might be an optical illusion from the crystal curve.

I think that is normal for these ones, the lower part of the G matches the bottom of the O

With the original strap, crystal has a few light scratches I’ll get to polishing them out at some point
