Still not (fully) aware of the OF etiquette, I thought it could be of interest to introduce you to this lovely German Moonphase watch.

Are there any other owners on OF? Either of this variant, the silver dial or the rose gold one?

I will try not to bore you with loads of details and statistics, which I'm sure you'll be able to find on the Lange website in case of interest. But the dimensions of 40mm wide and 10mm tall do explain why this is a very comfortable piece to wear. The white gold case gives it a nice heft but not overly so.

A more interesting number to mention is "852". It's the amount of stars on the Moonphase disk (!). The disk itself is fully made from white gold, with a blue layer placed on top of it through a patented process.

The amount of hand finish on Lange watches is really a joy, especially on the movement side. Even the buckle is very nicely crafted.

Overall this is my ultimate "dressy watch", although I can understand some may dislike the big date.

I will let my (amateuristic) pictures do more of the talking and hope you enjoy this topic.

Absolutely lovely. I would choose an A. Lange over any watch and aspire for a Lange 1. My budget is unfortunately in the Glashutte Original category. The Glashutte history is inspiring. I had plans to visit the town and museum in June before the virus hit.

Based on your username I would think you'd favor a Junghans or a Nomos. It seems you have finer tastes in watches!

    Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks! You are correct, Nomos was one of my first "loves". The Tangomat to be precise.
Later on my taste developed and the collection grew.
I tend to often like watches with symmetrical designs and often watches that reflect light nicely.
    Like UG Polerouters.

Glashütte Original is wonderful too. So happy hunting!

A looker, for sure. That would make a fine dress watch.

Beautiful watch. I have always had the upmost respect for the quality that is so characteristic of an A. Lange & Sohne watch. I have never owned an A. Lange & Sohne, and it's not because I don't believe they are excellent watches, I just simply preferred other brands.

That’s a beauty. The moonphase is quite stunning, I really like the way it’s done. On another watch that big date might be a turn off but it works in well with that dial. 40mm as well, there is a lot to like about that watch.

Beautiful!!! It’s not a perpetual or triple date with the day month window, but it sure is delightful with the accentuated day windows

Thanks! It's not a perpetual indeed. Separate from the much higher price, a perpetual wouldn't fit my "watch habits" that well. I rotate my watches a lot and don't like watch winders. I can live with a moonphase that is not fully in line with reality (I just love the look and the way it reflects light), but a wrong day, month & year would bother me. So probably I will need to stay away from perpetuals....

This is a lovely watch, though I find it a tad large at 40mm. The movement is lovely, as is the MP complication. I find the black dial versions more attractive, and between the WG and RG black dial versions the RG version is wonderful. Not that I own one, but here's a great pic from Deployant's review :

Thanks! The 40mm might have been 1 or 1,5mm less on paper, but it wears small thanks to the short and curved lugs.

The Rose gold & black version is superb indeed. I like my business watches to be “under the radar”, otherwise the Rose gold would have been a very serious option...

I thought this topic deserved some wrist shots.
Here are 2 that show how the dial will look black in some situations and greyish in others.

I visited my local AD and was blown away by Lange. Went in looking for a Tudor, came out planning on a Lange (soon). Great photos OP!

It seems the Lange 1 is the quintessential Lange, but I’d like to add a moonphase and the symmetry of the Saxonia Moonphase is so appealing to me.

Perfect symmetry, although a bit large for me. I have always fancied a Lange
