Congratulations as Beagles the world over are celebrating, "The win of the year." A 15-inch beagle named Miss P strutted away with the Best in Show award at the 139th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday night. Miss P, full name "Ch Tashtins Looking for Trouble," is only the 2nd ever beagle to win the most prestigious award, beating out winners from six other dog groups. In an interview with our own forum representative, corespondent Sandy M., Sandy had plenty to say on the occasion: Any words Sandy? **"Well Steve the win was one small step for a beagle, one giant leap for beaglekind" Very nicely put Sandy, any other thoughts on this momentous occasion? ** "Yes, I'm predicting that Omega watch will come out with a Limited Westminster edition Aqua Terra during Basel 2016 and that Miss P. will be named an Omega Ambassador." That's quite a scoop Sandy, care to reveal your sources ? **" Let's just say it comes from a source high up in the Glass-making industry with ties to Omega Watches." OK Sandy, we'll let you go for now, I know you're very busy with today's celebrations and I hear someone calling about walkies. Our ΩF corespondent, Sandy M .
I suspect our wee Sandy has landed a good number as Scottish Omega Ambassador It obviously pays well -
She's a perfect dog. My bitches' sister squared off with her for BIS last season at a show in Springfield, Mass. Wasn't even close... lol Beagles usually don't show well but this dog shines; she's already legendary! I watched her breed category at that show (everyone did) and it's obvious that Miss P. is a special dog. She's so perfect that she has to win category and show to get points because no other owner will show another 18 mos female Beagle against her. It's a waste of time. So, they'll be like 25 dogs entered for her breed and they're all males or younger females (different classes). I love when a bitch blows out a big group of aggressive males. Large groups of beagles are so cute because of the crazy sounds they make.
Love Beagles, super intelligent, obdurate, loving and obsessed by their noses ... My first one (bitch) got hit by a car aged about 5, my second is pretty close to 12 years of age. I very much doubt she'd challenge the new Omega ambassador in a comp but I reckon she's a superstar
If Sandy was there, he'd be flying the flag for Britain. He'd be trying to get up on the podium to give the beauty queen a good seeing to.
Well the winner is from one of the colonies...we all share the same Queen after all!! Nice to see a Canadian "top dog".
