As a refugee from Speedmasters and Submariners, I have found shelter here, in the mirrored darkness of their faces.

Everybody’s on rivet bracelets and wearing proper domed crystals. I’ve found I love the dauphine hands.

Got the clan together for a group shot. 😀

Top row: I-59 6565, II-67 1008, I-56 6566

Bottom row: IV-63 1002, IV-64 1002, II-62 1002

In chronological order:

As always, it’s a shame I only have two wrists.

Love the last one. What wrist size are you and how do you find wearing a 34? i have pretty weedy wrists and usually wear 36/37 but not sure if i could go any lower.

I have big wrists. It all depends on the case.

I have small wrists, despite being tall.

But honestly, it’s the weight that’s the tipping point for me.

Yup, wore this 33mm gem just in (needs a spa trip.

Then threw on my Speedy to go out to dinner- felt like an anchor

That is a real obsession. Aren’t all of the 1002’s on the bottom row too similar to all be keepers? That 62 is insane, but they are all in such good condition. Which is your favorite? I have a ‘64 1002 gloss gilt with quite a bit of patina. I also have a 70’s 1002 and an early 80’s 5500. I have smallish wrists (6.75”) and I like 34mm with long sleeves in the winter and 36mm or chunky dive watches (vintage yema supermen) in the summer.

Why not? Each is a little different. And ironically, it’s the bottom row that’s part of my daily wear rotation at the moment. I’ll occasionally wear the 6566 and the 6565, but the 1008 is too nice to wear too much. It even came with its hangtag. (The 6565 from 59 has the most patina.)

These two are my favorites:

The lumed 1002 keeps better time and is in better mechanical shape, while the no-lume 1002 has that really clean look. Third place goes to the other bottom row piece, the gold handed 1002, with the old fashioned longer hour hand.

It’s not that I don’t love the top row, it’s just that each of them has reasons to be a little more careful than to garden with them, for instance.

BTW, I’m perfectly capable of owning four or five of exactly the same thing, if I really love it. Maybe it’s because I started as a coin collector at age six.

BTW #2: @vibe , I love yours. Let me know if you want to sell it! 😗

That's one great little collection. You definitely have a 'type' 😉. I think my favourite is the non-lume example - incredible condition.
