Good evening, First, I'll to say that it's a pleasure to find such a rich source of passionate and knowledgeable people together in the cyberspace. I have never been involved in the vintage watch world. But last night my wife brought me a present, a vintage Omega automatic watch, allegedly from 1974. Immediately my curiosity was ignited and I felt a need to know more about this watch. I made some research, but couldn't find anything. Then I thought it is impossible to learn in a couple of hours an art that will take years of study. That when I decided to seek some advise from experts. The first question I have is, is it original? Seccond, what is the name of this watch? Third, is it worth it to polish? I'll appreciate any help, comments and information. Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge. The movement is 1010 calibre and inside the case reads 166 0202. Year 1974.
https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/15397/ - The watch is original - The name of the watch is William - Never polish your watches. best wishes.
I prefer to give my watches feminine names... So if William/Wiliel/ or Bill doesn't stick - go with Addie (should be short for Automatic)
Panerai Homage Cali Dial Watch Thank you for the fast and accurate response. And thank you for teaching me how to make an appropriate omega watch search.
166.0202 is the model. Movement is a 1010. You need the serial number to date it. Gold plated don't polish it.
