I picked this up recently after posting an offer to the seller: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/112071687253Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network The seller didn't provide any caseback/movement photos (I know, silly me) but did list the serial number of the movement in the 33xxxxxxxx range and a caseback reference of 166.0118. Digging up Google and looking at images of a Cal 1480 with the same caseback number showed me plenty of Geneves as well as this earlier find from another OF member: https://omegaforums.net/threads/help-with-my-find-of-the-day-a-funky-omega-166-0118.40310/ I'm now curious as to what's been done with the dial; whether it is original and just happened to not say Geneve, or whether it is a redial/pulled from another watch. The crown is not original too, so will order one through Cousins once it arrives.
Looks legit. The international collection watches weren't always from a series (Seamaster/Geneve etc), and it's not uncommon to see them with semi sterile dials like this. Looks good.
The watch arrived today, so was very keen to have a look at it. Crystal is original; inside is a bit of rotor wear; crown is non original replacement. It looks great on the wrist! Thank you for the advice @tyrantlizardrex
Good to see it's off that average bracelet. As Lizard man said, the dial wasn't always Genève. Nice crisp watch.
Thanks guys! That leather band is actually a 20mm, which squeezed in...so in the meantime I've swapped it out for a long 18mm band whilst waiting for a replacement signed crown. Speaking of bands, would this Omega Corfam NOS band be appropriate to match the watch? I was caught by it saying it's from the 60s/70s, and it is an American replacement.
