So, there's this one for sale in eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Zenith-El-...th-gay-freres-Bracelift-Cal-3019/323683702377Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network The sellers describe it: Zenith El Primero chronograph ref.a3817 with dial and hands from ref.A386 So, it's a mix of parts?
I am following this one. In addition to the mixed hands, it has a later rotor in the movement. Curious watch.
Its a Zenith El Primero tonneau case with an A386 service dial and hands. Service crown. Incorrect replacement rotor. Could have started life as an A384/A385/A3817/A3818. No serial number visible on caseback photo. It has a Gay Freres bracelet with clasp stamped "2/72". BEWARE the top endlink is a replacement wrong part, the other looks a correct ZKM endlink.
31 bidders with 50 bids....they can have it. The last a386 to sell on the bay was good except a non a386 case back and it sold for $6836; it had one issue. This mish mash watch has many issues and is over 4k...crazy imho.
I believe you are talking about this watch.... https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-zenith-el-primero-a386-circa-1969.86743/
Thanks BGrisso, that was the thread/watch I was referring to. Now nearly 5k! I agree with Risto about the value and for a watch professional, very well worth the parts, someone pointed out the band has one bad end link, but the rest of that bracelet is still 1-2k.
