For your consideration is this fine & honest example of a vintage 1961 Omega Speedmaster ref: 2998-3. Serial: 17.76X.XXX

    Brief history:

This watch came from the estate of the original owner.
When I acquired the watch, the crystal was cracked, and the lollipop hand had been previously relumed.
(No one cared about "matching colors" at that time).
The watch has just come out of service. The original lollipop hand has been relumed to match.
A 100% original period crystal with the narrow/flat-foot Omega logo was sourced to replace the cracked one.

    Condition report:

Dial: Original Pre-Professional Radium dial in excellent condition. The dial surface is clean and free of scratches.
The original Radium lume is in fantastic shape and has developed lovely patina.
The lume plots are in overall excellent shape showing light signs of deterioration and discoloration.

    Hands:
Original Radium hour & minute hands in excellent shape. The original Lollipop hand has been relumed to match.

    Case:
Sharp Symmetrical straight lug case. This watch has never been polished.
The lugs are thick and crisp, and though somewhat "sleeve-worn", the original factory brushed finish can be seen on the sides of the case, especially between the crown and the pushers.
The caseback is sharp and free of extensive scarring which are (unfortunately) common on these watches which have been opened in the past without proper tools.

    Crown & pushers:
    Original "Flat-foot" crown. Original pushers.

    Bezel:
Original "DON" (Dot Over Ninety) TACHYMETRE bezel in excellent condition. The bezel shows some wear as shown in pictures, but overall in great shape.

    Bracelet:
Original period short buckle 7077 dated to the 1st quarter of 1961 with single notch #6 end links.
The bracelet is unpolished and only had 2 of the spring links removed. Full 8 solid links on each side.

    Movement:
Omega Cal 321. Serviced April 2022 and carries a one-year service warranty.

Accessories: Omega Extract Of The Archives shows production date of January 20 1961 and delivery to the US.

Notes: Beautiful and honest examples of any CK2998 are becoming extremely difficult to find. Especially a 2998-2 or 3 with an original Lollipop hand.
