Here are a few photo's from emigrant wilderness crab tree trail in Calif. we went in for 10 days. You can hit a different lake every day. We hit grouse lake, wood lake, buck lake, deer lake, jewelry lake, gem lake, piute lake, camp lake, bear lake if we had more time and food we would of hit more lakes. The switch backs up hill on granite killed me never thought I would be still doing this at my old age. A few photo's. DSCF1116.JPG DSCF1159.JPG DSCF1140.JPG DSCF1146.JPG DSCF1145.JPG

I've never really been a camping type of person, but whenever I see pics of this type of scenery I do consider high-tailing it over to California. Trying something like the John Muir Trail does have it's appeal. But then I imagine getting my face ripped off by a bear and think "nah..". :( :)

Beautiful country. Polished granite isn't just for rich folks' countertops, we also build mountains out of it!

Memories of backpacking with my dad in the Sierra.

Eh, the bears aren't interested in fighting you, unless you attack them or seem to be threatening their cubs. They might steal your food, or rip your backpack apart to get at the food that they smell from earlier, though. Stand upright, yell, bang pots together, generally making noise scares them off.

No. Remember, the bear is in its home, we're just guests.
