As evidence both of my UG envy in general and lack of self control in 2015 in particular, I picked up the following affordables in 2015 because they remind me of some UG models. Each has so far provided worry free weekend fun.

In 2016, I may see if I can get the Repco dial cleaned up a little - not sure whether this will be possible without damage or too much cost - the watch cost me less than 50 dollars. Will also look to put on some Dauphine hour and minute hands.

For the Landeron, I'll replace the hands with something more in the vein of hands on UG Sub 1st gen, then put on either a nato or mesh strap.

This is what happens when I stay up late and post - the skeletons come out...

Agree! Can you or @Severin tell me more about this brand, Repco?

I'd leave the Landeron as is. Looks great to me.

Agreed, is it modern or vintage?

The Landeron is modern - Miyota movement. I don't imagine today's Landeron has anything to do with the vintage Landeron, except for owning the name.

As for Repco, I haven'd done much research into this brand, seem to recall someone saying they went out of business in the early 2000s and went by a variety of names prior to that. Here are some advertisements from the internet. I'm not clear on what the connection with Nicolet is.
