They look original to me but it's strange that they don't have SWISS at 12? Mine are here; Another example;
What's going on at 6 o'clock on the blue dial? Did they really print one # over the other at the factory like that?
Dial with Blue text -- bad redial. Subdials are ... illegible to say the least. Well, I'm a n00b in this area, Gold dial, don't know
Ha, many differing opinions, ranging from ´redial´, ´old service dial´, to ´original´ and, I can only assume, the tongue in cheek ´prototype/rare prototype´ Exactly why I posed the question in the first place as I too find it tricky with the sub dial overprint on the blue one. I have since been looking at ref 2277 and have found these aged examples, all with sub dial and particularly 6 o clock sub dial overprint. What do we think now?
Good enough for me. Yann is the best IMHO! What else would you do at 6/30? A little clearer, maybe? I'd love to see a dial with the old lenticular printing that would change back-and-forth. I have always struggled with the questions "How demanding and how precise can we be with the older pieces that often were created by a master at his bench?" Is it a sliding scale as we judge older and older? Did any of these dudes ever have a bad day?
