A Case Study - Tri Compax 22536

Whenever I find an example that I believe still has the factory case finish, I like to document here in the forum with high res pics, so that we have it on record. This is a cal 287 oversized Tri with applied gold numerals, it shows very light wear on the case. Still paired with a very very old strap. Interesting to note that one of the three case correctors is discolored and sits slightly proud of the case, I think this just happens sometimes, I believe all three correctors are completely stock.

One of things I really like about the 22536 case is the lugs are quite thin on the front profile, but from the side the depth makes them quite fat and chunky.

Do you mind telling me where you got the strap from please?
It does look like one of those (and they are rare) original to the watch UG straps

A truly beautiful watch, and one still on my list - so before anyone else does, dibs...

It's a very old strap, possibly/probably original, without any kind of marking, and a really weird brass buckle. I think the strap can be used, with some serious leather conditioning and a buckle change.

I couldn't afford to keep both of my oversized SS Tri, so I kept my 22502 and sadly this beauty already has a new home, it was snapped up rather quickly some time ago. I do get to enjoy it for a few more weeks until delivery. Oh well. You can't keep them all 🤔

Sad but true ... still, on the basis that especially you but also everyone except me seems to find nice UG tris, consider it a pre-emptive dibs on the next oversize stainless steel tri...
