hi. Just bought what I believe to be an Omega Seamaster from the 60s. It doesn’t say seamaster on the dial but it does say it on the back case. Is this original or has it been made up out of two watches. Sorry real new to these watches just liked the look of it. Any info about it would be great

    Thanks

I have had several Geneve Seamaster/Seamaster Geneve myself, but never with a unishell case.
To me it looks like @tdn-dk already has pointed out. Someone has put a Geneve dial into a Seamaster/Seamaster De Ville case.

Chap at jewellery shop who has been working with watches for over 50 years says he remembers working on my watch and says it is all 100% original and definitely not a different case or dial. It’s a bit of a mystery but thanks for your opinions

Thanks. No I don’t have that info. I wouldn’t even know how to find it but I would be very reluctant to open the watch as I am a complete novice. I just bought it because I loved the look. My other watch is a brand new Rolex Submariner so very very different

Have the chap at the jewellery shop, who knows this watch is a 100% correct, open it. That will put it all to rest. Make sure to get photos of the movement caliber number and inside the caseback.

Chaps who work at jewelry stores for over 50 years are usually misinformed.

Is there any need of being unpolite?
I saw a few seamaster Genève before so it could be authentic.

I took a look in my collection and found my old geneve seamaster which I sold by the way. I only know these screwback cases. Again, I never saw a unishell...
