    Dear gentlemen!

Last year I purchased from a german ebay jeweller a little Omega dresswatch ss /of ±1950 /34mm /
    ref 2495 8 / mvm nr 11662881.
I trusted (mea culpa mea culpa) a certificate from that seller coming with it, saying it is a cal 283.
As I am into the process of selling it now, because the obviously worked over dial does not fit anymore to my collecting criteria, I opened it only today for the first time and found out, that it has a cal 265 instead.

    Now I am asking myself:

What have I actually been sold?
    Are the hands correct?
    Still dates to ±1950?
cal 265 vs 283 altering the value or is it not a big issue - just laugh about myself?

thx a lot for any opinions!
    Here my mobile pics

Caliber 265 is correct for this reference, so no problem the watch is okay, they have made a mistake in their paperwork. That certificate have no value what so ever in a sale.

A 283 caliber movement is a center seconds design, so it should never have been mistaken for a 265. The calibers are valued essentially the same.

I've always had a soft spot for small seconds :)

I think that the hands are correct for this type of dial, but I have some doubts about the originality of the latter.
I think it was reprinted because the graphics of "chemin de ferr" and the small seconds is a little rough.
... I could be wrong, maybe tilting it in the picture that I misleads or the size of the picture that makes it grainy.
    my two cents.

I was aware of the overworked dial, but your look at the details is very much appreciated!
    thx
