    Hello all,
I recently bought from a friend and a fellow collector a nice stainless steel Longines ref 6666 with it's original box(at least I believe so). It is in very good condition and it has the well known 12.68z.
    IMG_0055.JPG IMG_0051.JPG IMG_0052.JPG

I contacted Longines and they gsve me these information about it:
"The original serial number 9'496'986 identifies a wristwatch in stainless steel bearing the reference 6666. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 12.68Z. It was invoiced on 23 July 1955 to the company Wirth, which was at that time our agent for Switzerland"

So I searched google in order to find info about the "Wirth company" for the purpose to find as much of the history of this watch is possible, but with not much luck. So if anyone has any info about the Wirth company I would be grateful for the help.

    Love the strap work.

    Scissors or meat cleaver?

    Sorry, know nothing of Wirth.

Nice watch. Wirth was a distributor, not a retailer, so aren't likely to find much related information.

    It's not nearly flat enough.

No nothing as exterme as a meat cleaver, only scissors. I plan of course to buy a brown alligator strap for it, I think it will match it perfectly.

Thanks for the information Tony, much appreciated :)

Ok I see that my choise to put the word Calatrava even in quotes in the title has started a conversation even a new thread about banning the use of the word! Of course I know that the Calatrava is a Patek Phillipe line of watches and to use this word to describe other watches is incorrect, but I used it in quotes because at the time I thought it was the best word to describe a nice and simple watch as this Longines. If you wish of course I can remove it from the title..

It wasn't just you - it's been going on for a while. However, your thread will be the guinea pig for one of the potential substitutes.

Ok I see your point but I don't think "baklava" is the right substitute;)

How about using "watch" complete with quotation marks?

    Ok fixed it
Of course I like it. I don't know if you have tried it but it's a very nice dessert but I don't think it's a suitable name for a watch. Anyway I used a more appropriate definition as you can see;)
