Not sure if Alaska project is that rare, but it is a Prototype, so I can see the rarity factor http://www.bloomberg.com/news/photo...-philippe-among-star-watches-at-swiss-auction
Oh boy! Let me check my cash on hand and balance. BRB.......... ............................. ......... ................................................................ ........nuts, I'm about $2,999,500 short. I'm out.
You are closer than me. I am missing $3M even. And that is just starting bid, so we cant even do that lol
I was lucky enough to see it out of the case last week (Patek not the Alaska) .... it's in amazing condition... the charming assistant told me that 'apparently' it was bought from a Hungarian widow in a Budapest flea market in the 90s.... for $20
Okay... if we all toss what we have into a hat we should be able to land this thing.... we could kind of like time share it out to the members of the forum who participated..... We should each get about six minutes with the watch... with the last guys getting their crack at it in about 37 years.... so we make a list based on age and.. um ... er.. a aw piss on it.... where's my Timex..... at least its paid for.
Don't forget, as well as the $3mm price tag, the buyers premium on this, plus tax, is another cool $1mm+ ....
I prefer my Revue to the PP, with the possible exception of movement finishing... ...and am not completely joking!
I would have double-Liked this post if possible. Important thread drift: @meganfox17 - is that nail polish OPI's "I'm not really a waitress" or "An affair in Red Square" you're wearing?
